AIEM intends to bring to public attention the profession of museum and heritage educator – and the related activities – which is not recognized in Italy both from a normative and social point of view.
Vision statement
This profession is strategic for the role played within the cultural institution and the relationship with the different audiences and communities, thanks to the constant research and updating, which translates into multiple actions focused on people. The association therefore has as its main objective the enhancement, promotion and protection of the specific activity of museum and heritage educators and their activities but also it pursues multiple aims, such as: the profile of competences and its ethical principles, the identification of training paths and professional standards, as well as the safeguarding of the prestige and professional dignity of the museum educator, sharing best practices, creating networks between all different kind of educators, trainers, researchers and teachers.
