Tirantes
We believe in three main characteristics, namely: Passion, vision and action. This is the key to success. Theo van de Veerdonk acts as initiator, networker and motivator.
Initiator
Theo has proven to anticipate new developments. He often takes the first initiative. For example, ‘s-Hertogenbosch was the first municipality in the Netherlands to take on the role of project leader for Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus+ projects. He also directed local, regional and transnational cooperation in the field of education and the labor market. Finally, he took the initiative to create an ambassador network of companies, education and local government. They made an analysis of the problem and started a joint approach aimed at early school leaving and youth unemployment.
Networker
Motivator
The Netherlands still thinks too often in pillars, there is a lot of compartmentalization. That is why it is important that Education, Entrepreneurs and Government work more closely together. The external focus of organizations means that people are better informed about the ins and outs of the world around us. Theo van de Veerdonk knows better than anyone how to connect the surrounding parties. This can only be done by investing in networks. Entrepreneurship and tenacity are qualities that are of great importance. Building a network takes a lot of effort, but you can’t rest on your own laurels. You have to stay in contact with partners in your network to strengthen the network and to expand it further.
Theo van de Veerdonk is able to motivate others to take action for the desired change. On the basis of a careful analysis of educational and labor market developments, he is able to arrive at joint action plans with stakeholders in contact with the government, educational institutions and the business community. It is important to respond quickly to current and future developments. An example of this is the implementation and promotion of expertise in Career Orientation and Career Guidance within primary and secondary education. Another example is more focused on promotion technology within primary and secondary education, partly motivated by a lack of supply of future staff within companies. Yet another case is the development of competences among teachers towards a new role as a facilitator of learning processes.
